The Host Planet Roadshow is heading to Nottinghamshire – and this one is all about taking back control of your bookings.
On Monday 14 September 2026, short-term rental hosts and property managers from across the Midlands will gather at One Call Stadium, home of Mansfield Town FC, for a full day of learning, networking, and practical strategy. The theme running through every session will be direct bookings: how to win them, how to power them with the right tech, and how to build a business that isn't entirely at the mercy of the OTAs.
Proudly delivered with our Event Partner, Simply Owners, the Nottingham Roadshow is a golden opportunity to engage with hosts in the Midlands, with a focus on sustainable growth and operational best practice in suburban and rural markets – including the Peak District on Nottinghamshire's doorstep.
Why direct bookings, and why now?
For most hosts, the OTA platforms are both the biggest source of bookings and the biggest cost. Direct bookings flip that equation: lower fees, a stronger relationship with your guest, repeat custom, and more resilience when regulation or algorithm changes shake up the market.
But going direct isn't just about a booking button on a website. It takes the right pricing strategy, the right technology stack, a clear handle on tax and regulation, and the confidence to market your properties as a real brand. The Nottinghamshire Roadshow event is designed to give you all of that in a single day – from the people who do it for a living.

Who you'll hear from at Host Planet Roadshow Nottinghamshire
The day brings together some of the most respected names in UK short-term rentals. You'll hear a regulation update from Janet Uttley, Chief Executive of the Short Term Accommodation Association (STAA), a data keynote from PriceLabs on what the numbers say about STR trends in Nottinghamshire and the Peak District, and a fireside chat on guests and brand featuring Rebecca Ward of Simply Owners and Lisa Roads of the Women in Short Term Rentals Community.
There's a tech panel with Hostaway and SuperControl on making direct bookings possible, a pricing session from Beyond and PriceLabs, and a tax update from Matt Jeffery of Zeal Tax. The afternoon culminates in The Direct Booking Challenge – a live competition with team pitches, prizes, and plenty of friendly rivalry.
